Atlas Summary

This video atlas on gonioscopy facilitates an immediate knowledge and skill transfer on evaluation of the anterior chamber angle. The viewer can have a near live gonioscopic view of normal anterior chamber angle anatomy, distinguish between primary open angle and primary angle closure disease, learn to identify developmental angle anomalies and distinguish various forms of secondary glaucomas occurring due to trauma, uveitis, neovascularization, irido-corneal-endothelial syndrome, surgery, etc. Intraoperative gonioscopy in eyes with congenital glaucoma, cyclodialysis and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery is also included. Techniques of dynamic gonioscopy using indentation and manipulation have also been incorporated to give a practical “hands on” like experience. This unique video atlas, the first of its kind for gonioscopy will aid ophthalmology residents/fellows and general ophthalmology practitioners in acquiring the skill to perform gonioscopy and provide valuable training for its correct interpretation. A Self-assessment Video Quiz has also been incorporated into this training module, so that each reader can perform a self-evaluation on what has been learnt from this atlas. This atlas will improve the standard for diagnosis and care of glaucoma patients and ultimately help in alleviating blindness from glaucoma.
