About Video

This video showing a double-headed pterygium. Subconjunctival anesthesia is being injected to facilitate easier tissue dissection. The head of the pterygium is excised and the cornea is smoothened with a crescent blade. The body of the pterygium is excised following this. Similar procedure is followed for pterygium on the temporal side. The tissue defect is measured on each side using callipers. The graft is marked on the superior region of the palpebral conjunctiva such that the vertical edge of the two grafts is juxtaposed to each other. The two grafts are separated from the each other by splitting the two through vertical edge. The conjunctival autograft is affixed on the nasal host defect using fibrin glue. Similar procedure of graft adhesion is followed for the temporal graft.
