Between days 36 to 42, the upper limbs show accelerated differentiation as elbows and hands are developing. Digital rays, primordium of the fingers begin to develop into buds of the hands or the hand plates (00.00 second – 00.20 seconds). Retinal pigment has formed making the eyes visible. The head is much bigger than the trunk and leans more over the great cardiac prominence that marks the neck that begins to differentiate. The tail is long and thick. At this time the embryo measures between 8 and 13 mm (00.25 seconds – 00.50 seconds).
