About Video

This video clip showing two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography. Small arrowhead points to a line in the left atrium (LA) and the large arrowhead shows air bubbles. Small air bubbles scatter the ultrasound beam producing echogenic artifacts which facilitate their recognition (AO: Aorta; LV: Left ventricle; MV: Mitral valve; RV: Right ventricle).
