This video clip shows two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (intraoperative). Paravalvular mitral prosthetic regurgitation. 1 and 2 represent the two leaflets of a metallic mitral prosthesis (MVR). Color Doppler study shows severe paravalvular (P) mitral regurgitation (MR) located laterally near the left atrial appendage. Following surgical repair, the paravalvular MR has disappeared. (LA: Left atrium; LV: Left ventricle).
