This video clip showing two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography. Flail aortic valve. Long-axis view. Arrow points to a flail aortic valve (AV) cusp which prolapses in diastole into the left ventricular (LV) outflow tract and shows noncoaptation. Diastolic fluttering of the leaflet characteristic of cusp rupture can also be appreciated. (LA: Left atrium; LV: Left ventricle).
