This video clip 2D parasternal short axis view at the apical level, showing severe apical hypertrophy in a case of the apical variant of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This view is very useful for evaluating apical abnormalities such as noncompaction of the LV myocardium, LV apical thrombus, LV apical aneurysm, and the apical variant of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
