This video describe colposcopy technique. Know the indications for cervical colposcopy, complications of colposcopy, and perform cervical colposcopy are describes in this video. Apply acetic acid on a large cotton swab and keep in place for at least 60 seconds—Reapply if needed in 3–5 minutes. Position the colposcope to focus on the cervix and the entire transformation zone. If no lesions are visible apply Lugol solution to the cervix (dilute iodine). Areas with the highest degree of abnormality should be biopsied. Following the biopsies, an endocervical sampling is often performed. Endocervical curettage should not be performed in pregnancy. Stop bleeding with silver nitrate if needed. Remove the speculum.
