This video clip depicts two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. Arrow points to blue signals in the left atrium mimicking mitral regurgitation. The signals are extremely brief in duration and extend beyond the wall of the left atrium and this feature differentiates it from true mitral regurgitation. (LA: Left atrium; LV: Left ventricle; RA, Right atrium; RV: Right ventricle).
