In this video, the authors take you through the basic steps of the functional endoscopic sinus surgery. Demonstrated here are an anterior and posterior ethmoidectomy, a middle meatal antrostomy, a sphenoidotomy and a frontal sinusotomy. While there have been numerous techniques described from authors from across the world, demonstrated here is the authors’ preference for the surgery. While this procedure is performed for chronic sinusitis and polypsis, it forms the basis for advanced procedures beyond the sinuses, and, hence, must be mastered for more reasons than one.
