This video demonstrates the procedure of a robotic radical nephrectomy that involves removing the entire kidney for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. This can be done using open (traditional surgery), laparoscopic or robotic techniques. The da Vinci surgical robot enables high definition magnification of the operative field, precise surgical dexterity, and image guided identification of renal blood supply.
