Developed by Koch this technique involves Gimbel’s nucleus preparation and Nagahara’s chop to break up the nuclear rim. It is called stop and chop phacoemulsification. This video outlines the steps involved in stop and chop phacoemulsification. It shows all kinds of cataract viz. soft, grade 2,3,4 and white cataract being performed by this technique. It is a very good tool in the hands of cataract surgeons-novice or expert.
