It is an absolute pleasure to write a foreword for this wonderful book which serves both categories of students I have come across among our undergraduate MBBS students. For the student wishing to master the subject, this is indeed a comprehensive and well-detailed textbook which serves to give the reader an understanding of the concepts and science of the subject and the clinical approach to each problem. For the student wishing to do well in the examination and/or to gather the bare essentials, this is again a text wherein the essential must-know points are appropriately highlighted and emphasized. The thoughtful subheadings and highlights in red allow for a quick recap of all essential points and enable last minute examination preparation in all aspects of the subject.
Each chapter lists the learning objectives and also some examination questions. Each chapter ends with a section on Self-Assessment and Interesting Cases section. The interesting cases listed here allow the reader to engage in clinical scenarios and to reflect on their understanding of the topic. The Review Questions and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the same section enable the reader to check on whether the learning objectives for the examination have been attained. Further, this section is a further synopsis of the essential learning points.
All in all, an excellent textbook which shall serve both as a textbook for mastering and understanding the subject, and also as a quick revision guide. It is an interesting read for students wishing for clinical correlates with learning pearls and clinical scenarios to provide context and engagement. It is in accordance with the undergraduate curriculum in the subject and appropriate for examination preparation. It is an easy read, is excellently illustrated, and has additional sections on instruments and the frequent viva-voce questions and scenarios in undergraduate examinations.
An excellent book which I have enjoyed reading. The kind of book I wish I had the benefit of when I was developing an understanding of the subject and undertaking similar examinations. It will engage our students and elicit their interest in the subject.

Foreword
In the last two decades, many changes have occurred in the diagnostic and therapeutic domain of ENT, head and neck surgery. There has been a constant demand for an updated textbook of ENT for undergraduate medical students. After going through the preprints, I am happy to say that ENT, head and neck for graduates by Dr Hitesh Verma is a promising addition to this requirement.
Though the primary target readers for this book are medical undergraduate students, this can very well be used by the ENT postgraduate students as a ready reckoner. I would like to point out that nursing students will find it easy to read and understand according to their requirements.
This book comprises 66 chapters, prepared according to the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines for Indian medical graduates teaching and examination.
The chapters have theory related to it with highlighted essential points, a good collection of clinical photographs, and a summary at the end with long and short questions and multiple choice questions. The chapters contain interesting cases for case-based learning (CBL) or problem-based learning (CBL). Each subsection has specific examination methods and instruments related to it. Each chapter is written in an easily understandable language.
I extend my warmest wishes to this book's readers and contributors.
