Physical exercise is the performance of some activity in order to develop or maintain physical fitness and overall health. Physical exercise is considered important for maintaining physical fitness including healthy weight; building and maintaining healthy bones, muscles, and joints; promoting physiological well-being; reducing surgical risks; and strengthening the immune system. Types of physical exercises, level of intensity in aerobic exercise (as per guidelines of center for disease control), examples of moderate and vigorous intensity activities, range of motion, types of range of motion (ROM) exercises, range-of-motion exercises for the wrist, and range-of-motion for the thumb are discussed in the table format.
