Nursing of today's world is so challenging that each nursing student needs to have thorough basic knowledge, since basic concepts of nursing procedures form basic nursing foundation for each nurse. It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction in completing this book on basic concepts of nursing procedures. Since today's nursing students are future nurses, therefore, it is the responsibility of each nurse educator to guide each neophyte nurse to gain basic knowledge in nursing. This book is illustrated in simple English, easy to grasp, and explained in points. Each procedure is explained as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) requirements. Full syllabus of nursing procedures in the nursing foundations and basic medical surgical nursing procedures are also included.
Nursing is art and science of professional nursing practice which continues to evolve and expand. The growing body of nursing research and explosion of technological advances and challenges stimulate nurses to acquire knowledge and refine critical thinking skills. The comprehensive coverage of this book provides concepts and components of nursing skills and techniques of nursing practice and firm foundation of nursing.
The second edition of Basic Concepts of Nursing Procedures has 9 sections with 33 chapters, in which each procedure is well described with relative figures, diagrams, tables, etc. From the examination point of view, this book forms a hot cake to gulp. It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to introduce Basic Concepts on Nursing Procedures. This book assists the beginning student in a technical or professional nursing program to form a broad understanding of what nursing care to be provided for person under stress, which alters his or her degree of wellness.
Our patients look to and depend on us in the nursing profession to provide the highest quality care possible. To meet the needs of patient and the demand of a market-driven health care system, nurses must have quick and easy access to a full range of nursing interventions presented in a clear, easy-to-use format.
Basic Concepts on Nursing Procedures outlines the principles and steps that are clear, concise and easy-to-follow format. The information provided is based on established knowledge, practice and backed by sound scientific principles.
The main objective of this book is to give the complete extract of the important procedures in the nursing which will meet the needs of today's nursing care demand. This book is prepared according to the nursing practice syllabus.
The contents of this book include almost all procedures and principles. Each procedure is divided in such a way that it has definitions, purposes, indications, classifications, influencing factors, principles, general instructions, preliminary assessments, preparation of the patient and environment, equipment, procedures, post-procedure care and complications.
This book will be helpful for BSc nursing as well as general nursing students. It is a boon for all nursing educators and for those, who have keen interest to strengthen their knowledge to provide the preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative care for the patients they serve.
