Advances in genetics, molecular, cellular and developmental biology in endocrinology have expanded and magnified to understand the fundamental mechanism involved in endocrine function, dysfunction and disease of the hypothalamo-pituitary-ovarian-uterine axis. Due to the above facts, new and evidence based diagnostic management and preventive options have emerged.
In practice, gyne-endocrinologists feel embarrassed when confronted by endocrine problems probably due to deficiencies in knowledge of endocrinology and lack of systematic current and informed approach to these clinical situations.
This book not only highlights the molecular, cellular and genetics of the endocrine system but also focuses on the various diseases like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), delayed and precocious puberty, dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB), obesity, etc. which is sure to help gyne-endocrinologists in their clinical practice.
