Bacterial skin infections are very common, ranging from merely annoying to deadly infections. In this chapter, the bacterial infections are discussed as pyodermas—Staphylococcal, Streptococcal, toxin mediated syndromes and non pyodermas—erythrasma, trichomycosis axillaris, pitted keratolysis, botryomycosis, actinomycosis, anthrax, bacillary angiomatosis. The individual diseases are described to the point on the causative agents, key clinical features, predisposing factors, differential diagnosis, diagnostic tests and treatment. The clinical presentation of each disease is illustrated with photographs. The classifications of pyoderma and differences between primary and secondary pyodermas and differentiating features of SSSS and TEN are tabulated.
