The aim of this book is to focus on the Urticaria: Interesting Cases. Urticaria is a common, heterogeneous, debilitating, and in many cases, chronic disease. Most patients with chronic urticaria currently struggle to achieve control over their disease. This book focuses on 33 cases which are recognizing urticarial vasculitis, a rare differential diagnosis of chronic urticaria, exercise-induced angioedema, familial hypertryptasemia and chronic urticaria, adult-onset still’s disease, yet another disease masquerading as urticaria, autoimmune chronic spontaneous urticaria resistant to antihistamines in a 12-year-old boy, chronic spontaneous urticaria, chronic spontaneous urticaria managed successfully with dapsone in a recalcitrant case, elevated plasma levels of d-dimer predict resistance to antihistamine therapy, personalized omalizumab interval in chronic spontaneous urticarial patient, complete resolution of cold-induced urticaria etc. This collection of case reports on urticaria would not have been possible without the global network of Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence (UCAREs). Most of the reports in this book are on patients seen and managed by UCAREs, in all parts of the world. The UCARE network aims to increase the awareness of urticaria and to build knowledge on this disease, with generalists and specialists, on a global scale. This book will help to improve our understanding of this vexing disease and improve its management.
