The aim of this book is to focus on the principles of physiology. Physiology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the main biochemical principles involved in the appropriate functioning of humans. This edition presents a usual large section containing the main text material suitable for the general undergraduate students. Physiology forms the basis of all medical sciences, and it is also a very dynamic subject. This book is divided into 110 chapters that are comprised into 13 sections. The first and second section describes general physiology and nerve muscle physiology in detail respectively. The third section delineates all the relevant topics that come under hematology. The fourth section describes in depth the respiratory system, followed by the fifth, sixth and seventh sections that intensely cover the topics of the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, and the excretory system respectively. The eighth section explains metabolism in detail. The ninth, tenth, and eleventh section meticulously describes the endocrine system, reproductive system, and nervous system respectively. The twelfth and thirteenth section of the book deals with the topics covering special sense and Advance topics. One of the catchy features of the book is the inclusion of colored boxes in the text that briefly highlights the tit-bits and some advanced topics of physiology. The book also encapsulates information in the form of flowcharts and tables which will aid the students to understand the difficult physiological concepts in an easier manner.
