The aim of this chapter is to discuss the thrombolytics. Alteplase, streptokinase and urokinase are types of the thrombolytics. Decreased hematocrit, urticaria, headache, nausea, hypotension and dyspnea are common side effects of thrombolytics. Gastro intestinal, genitourinary, intracranial and retroperitoneal bleeding, and anaphylaxis are serious side effects of thrombolytics. Dosage, brands and nursing consideration of the alteplase, streptokinase and urokinase are also discussed throughout in the chapter.
