The aim of this book is to focus on “Jaypee’s Nursing Drugbook”. The drugbook provides comprehensive and up-to-date drug information in well-organized, nursing-focused monographs. This Drugbook includes over one thousand generic drugs. The drugs have been arranged systems to ease and enhance the reading experience. Each chapter begins with a classification of drugs (wherever applicable) and all drugs are categorized in accordance with the disease condition in which it is used. General Description, Indication, Dosage, Contraindication, Nursing instruction and Adverse drug reactions are discussed in this book with each drug. General Description includes the class of the drug, its mechanism of action and other general information of interest. This book includes seven useful appendices that provide nurses and students with a wealth of supportive data and clinical information helpful in their day-to-day dealing with drugs. First appendix discusses drugs and their safety profile in pregnancy. Second appendix discusses drugs and their safety profile in lactation. Choices of drugs for common problems during pregnancy are cover in third appendix. Fourth appendix describes drug doses in children. Poisoning and antidotes in children are cover in fifth appendix. Appendix sixth are discusses Drugs and fixed dose combinations banned in India. Important laboratory values with SI units and conventional units are cover in the seventh appendix.
