This book “Practical Physiology A New Approach” is mainly targeted for the first-year medical students. The prime objective of this book is to help the students understand the subject and at the same time, help them score better in their examinations. This book is divided into three parts i.e. hematology, clinical examination and general tips for examination preparation. The hematology part consists of 17 chapters which pres ent a brief discussion on introduction to hematology, compound microscope, collection of blood sample, hemocytometry, estimation of hemoglobin, total erythrocyte count, total leukocyte count, differential leukocyte count, red blood cell indices, determination of blood groups, etc. In the second part of this book, total 6 chapters are given which covers an introduction to human and clinical physiology, history taking and general physical examination, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, central nervous system, and gastrointestinal system. In the third part, this book covers general tips for practical examination, guidelines for a seminar presentation and general tips for objective-structured practical examination (OSPE) examination. Apart from these, this book also included various charts and diagrams that would contribute for complete preparation in terms of OSPE. This book mainly focussed on the exam-oriented topics so that students can use the book also as a last-minute revision.
