IADVL Color Atlas of Dermatology

by Manas Chatterjee, Biju Vasudevan

The Clinical dermatology atlas project in IADVL has been in the making since 2011—initially, it was conceived as an online atlas. It has now been completed as a print atlas with an exhaustive list of about 2,600 images of skin conditions; common and rare, mundane and esoteric, typical and atypical. This book “IADVL Color Atlas of Dermatology” is divided into 19 sections with 47 chapters with contributions by individual section editors, chapter authors and a large number of dermatologists. This book aims to familiarize dermatology residents and dermatologists with the various dermatological disorders in a visual manner. This book consists of purely Indian images and therefore will give the best possible outlook of Indian dermatology to a global audience. The atlas has high-resolution images of dermatological disorders with attractive legends. Common dermatological disorders, interesting and rare variants of these common disorders and rare disorders, especially seen in the Indian subcontinent, have formed the content of this atlas. Also, with no text except for the legends, the atlas entirely looks to form an impression with its images and that is the highlight of this book. This book would be beneficial to residents, young dermatologists trained in parts of the country where a particular condition may not be common enough for an image to be created in the mind when faced with a patient, as well as practicing dermatologists who may wish to review uncommon clinical entities.
