In each chapter, description of the cardinal clinical features is accompanied by the latest evidence on epidemiology, aetiology, treatment, and outcome. After a new chapter on global mental health, two chapters cover psychological and psychopharmacological treatments: their indications, efficacy, side effects, and mechanisms. The final chapter describes how psychiatric services are organized.
