The aim of this textbook is to focus on neurology. Neurology is a field in medical sciences which has made phenomenal progress over the last two decades. This Textbooks provide rapid access to the current status of the diseases and serve as ready reference for the physicians. This two-volume book of Neurology is divided into seven sections. Section 1 discusses the history-taking and the neurological examination, inclusive of the systemic examination that helps the neurological diagnoses. Section 2 covers the applied neuroanatomy and neurophysiology aspects that are important to clinicians. Section 3 discusses the clinical approach to various common neurological symptoms. Section 4 describes diseases of the nervous system. Section 5 discusses investigations, Section 6 the principles of management, and Section 7 is about the counseling and doctor–patient relationship. Thus, in some ways, this edition has tried to make the book comprehensive. Conventionally, textbooks carrying information regarding neurological examination have been separate from those that discuss diseases of the nervous system. This book covers both aspects. Diagrams and flowcharts have been used for the ease of assimilation and chapters are extensively referenced. This book has been prepared for clinicians who participate in the care of neurological patients, including those who are in training to become neurologists, internists, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists.
