The aim of this book is to discuss in detail the various Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) affecting pregnancy, to determine the issues in managing these patients in pregnancy and the interventions to prevent NCD. Traditionally the focus was to prevent maternal deaths due to direct causes like hemorrhage, infections, etc. This book consists of 13 chapters that focus on maternal nutrition, prepregnancy and pregnancy management, managing overweight PCOS young women, fetal origin of adult noncommunicable disease, preconception counseling of women with preexisting medical conditions, gestational diabetes mellitus, and cerebrovascular complications in pregnancy, lifestyle interventions and noncommunicable disease, and cancer cervix and pregnancy. The present ICOG Campus focuses on the importance of maternal nutrition, lifestyle intervention, Vitamin D and pre-pregnancy counseling in prevention of NCD. The practitioners will find the new look of campus attractive, useful and are able to translate this knowledge in their day-to-day practice.
