This book, now seeing its fifth edition, has been appreciated as the book in dermatopathology for residents in India. It has, in the past, received acclaim for its simplicity, clarity, and brevity. This book comprised of 2 sections that focus on inflammatory diseases and tumors, which are further divided into 29 chapters. The diagrammatic representations of the various microscopic changes in skin pathology are useful for not just the residents in dermatopathology, but for the consultants too. The microphotographs, differential diagnosis and histopathological changes in various dermatological lesions are dealt with in detail along with a diagnostic algorithm. This edition takes these basic concepts of the book further. All the original features of the book such as readable presentation of content, clinical correlation, flow charts, text boxes, and tables of comparison are retained. The book is now being published in color and several new features have been added. At the end of each chapter is a table of summary of findings in important conditions. The book will continue to serve as a ready reckoner for students as well as for the practising dermatologists and pathologists.
