The book “Essentials of Clinical Periodontology and Periodontics” elucidates the comprehensive information about the supporting structures of teeth and also encompasses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting structures. This book is comprised of 5 parts that focus on normal periodontium, classification and epidemiology of periodontal diseases, periodontal etiopathogenesis, periodontal pathology, and treatment of periodontal diseases, which are further divided into 56 chapters. In planning the sixth edition, a firm commitment has been made to provide a thorough and complete text. An attempt has been made to revise and update all chapters keeping in mind the curriculum as per DCI and various universities. New to this edition are chapters on Probiotics, Genetics in Periodontal Disease and Dentinal Hypersensitivity, the areas that have developed significantly in recent years. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) have been revised following the NEET exam pattern. In addition to more colorful illustrations and flowcharts in every chapter, audio-visual clippings have also been added in various chapters. Viva Voce and MCQs are displayed at the end of each chapter to enable the students in comprehensive preparation of the subject.
