Abstract

The sperm cell is a specialized cell and plays a role in transfer of paternal deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and activation of the mature egg. It is composed of three parts—head, mid-piece and tail. The head is connected to the mid-piece by a short region, the neck. Sperm count, sperm motility, sperm morphology, globozoospermia, sperm vitality, and sperm DNA fragmentation are the components of sperm evaluation which are defined in this chapter.
