Abstract

This chapter mainly focuses on the implant aesthetics. The premaxilla is a highly aesthetic zone. It often requires both hard (bone and teeth) and soft tissue management. The soft tissue drape is often the most difficult to restore. The anterior single tooth restoration is therefore the greatest challenge even for the most experienced and skillful practitioner. There are major difficulties in placing the implants because of the various local risk factors that can compromise the final aesthetic outcome. Implants should not have any polished collar and should be surface treated (roughened) right up to the platform. This results in minimal bone loss during remodeling. The implant abutment connection should be a conical tapered one to prevent micromovement and microleakage. This will be helpful for stability of the peri-implant hard and soft tissues. A case report on implant aesthetics is also provided in this chapter.
