This manual focuses on infertility. Infertility is the inability of a sexually active, non-contracepting couple to achieve pregnancy in one year. This manual consists of 11 chapters, which covers the approach to infertile couple, methods of tubal evaluation in infertility, evaluation of female infertility, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and it’s management, role of tubal reconstructive surgery in the era of ART, role of pre-IVF hysteroscopy, sperm function tests, optimizing outcome in IUI cycles, genetic testing of male factor infertility, social and cultural consequences of being childless, and stress in infertility. The etiology of female infertility can be broken down into ovulation disorders, uterine abnormalities, tubal obstruction and peritoneal factors. The investigation of the infertile patient must begin with adequate history taking and physical examination and diagnostic evaluation of both the partners simultaneously. Several treatment options have been used to overcome male infertility. Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is one of the easy, affordable and widely practiced treatments for many infertile couples. This manual will prove to be a boon to all those who are associated with the field and wants to gain more knowledge in the subject matter.
