Abstract

Genetics is the study of science in relation to inheritance of characters from one generation to the other generation. Chromosomes are thread-like or rod-like structures observed during cell division. In a resting cell, it is like a network. Gene is the structural and functional unit of chromosome that brings out a particular character of an individual. Karyotyping is the process by which the pairs of chromosomes are identified, arranged in an order, numbered and grouped. Homozygous is a pair of genes with similar character at a particular locus. Heterozygous is a pair of genes with different form of allele in a particular locus.
