Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to focus on the tooth. Human beings have two sets of teeth such as primary or deciduous or milk teeth and secondary or permanent teeth. Tooth has three parts. The crown part which is exposed; root part that is lodged in the alveolar socket and the cervix or neck—junction of root and crown. The core material of tooth present in both crown and root. Fibers present in the periodontal ligament for the attachment of tooth and bone. Undifferentiated mesenchymal cells of pulp cavity are used as stem cells. Odontoblast cells are influenced by neural crest cells.
