Abstract

Urethral catheterization is a routine medical procedure that facilitates direct drainage of the urinary bladder. Types of urinary catheters and male catheterization versus female catheterization are discussed in the table format. The passage of a catheter through the male urethra for the purpose of draining the urinary bladder or instilling a medication.
