The objective of this book is to introduce the pediatric nursing. Child health problems are shocking and alarming throughout the world, especially in the developing countries. A pediatric nurse is the key person in child care team. Pediatric nursing is a specialization of the nursing profession that focuses on pediatrics and the medical care of children, from infancy to the teenage years. This book consists of 25 chapters, which include introduction to child health, introduction to pediatric nursing, preventive pediatrics, immunization, newborn infant, sick child, behavioral disorder in children, nutritional deficiency disorders, respiratory diseases, heart diseases in children, burns and skin diseases, eye, ENT and orodental problems in children, and handicapped children and child welfare. This book is fully in accordance with the new GNM syllabus as recommended by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The author of this book uses simple language and clarify the complicated aspects concisely with rational, as relevant for the need of the students. The book will be helpful to the nurses working in the clinical areas and community to review their knowledge and practice in different aspects of child care.
