Dentofacial orthopedics not just deals with the treatment of skeletal malocclusion but also skeletal malformations. Syndromal anomalies are mostly developmental. Growth should be studied along with an extensive understanding of the associated syndromes, the etiology, the stage of formation of the anomaly and the components of the syndrome to know the orofacial manifestations. The orthodontist, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, oral and maxillofacial pathologist, should evaluate their respective roles in the team of experts who treat the craniofacial syndromes. The chapter projects the etiology, clinical features of the common craniofacial anomalies like clefts, Down’s syndrome, hemifacial microsomia, achondroplasia, etc.
