Research on growth received a new dimension with the implant studies of Bjork, which revealed that growth of maxilla and mandible may not be linear but rotational. The chapter provides very vivid understanding of all concepts in growth rotation like Bjork’s, Schudy’s, Dibbet’s, Proffit’s classification growth rotation. Comprehension of the pattern of rotation of maxilla and mandible is important in assessing the etiology of malocclusion, determining the nature of anomaly, predicting the prognosis, determining the various options of treatment and assessing the principles of the treatment mechanotherapy, finally in assessing the stability of treatment results. Growth rotation can be broadly classified as clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, but the classification does not stop there. It can also be classified as external and internal rotation; internal rotation in turn has two components: matrix and intramatrix rotation.
