A successful practice comes not only from excellent surgical skills and judgment, but also from good business management. Business management skills are generally more important in solo or small group practices because a health care professional is involved in the daily management of his or her office. However, in large group practices, business management knowledge and experience are important for every member of the practice because the business environment is frequently complex.
