The chapter starts off with definition for minimal invasive dentistry or minimal intervention dentistry. General principles of cavity design for minimal invasive dentistry are explained. Newer cavity classification–Mount and Hume classification is elaborated and also the tooth preparation design for all the types in this classification is explained.
