Proteins are macromolecules build up of amino acids, and perform diverse functions. On the basis of their functions, proteins are classified as enzymes, transport proteins, contractile proteins, regulatory proteins, structural proteins, defense proteins and genetic proteins. On the basis of composition and physiochemical properties proteins are classified as simple, conjugated and derived proteins.
