Abstract

Proteins in blood are precipitated with trichloroacetic acid. The protein free filtrate containing glucose reacts with O-toluidine in glacial acetic acid in the presence of heat to form green colored N-glycosylamine. The intensity of green color is proportional to the amount of glucose present and the color intensity is measured by using a red filter (625 nm).
