Bone Marrow specimens are collected for studies of BM clot, BM biopsy and aspirates for Prussian Blue Iron or other special stains. The aspirates for Iron and all the special stains are processed in haematology lab while for clot and biopsy is processed in Histopathology lab. In Histology lab after fixation in B-5 fixative for 4 hours 3-4 μm sections are cut and stained by Hematoxylene and Eosin (H and E). However, the aspirates and trephine sections are reported by the Hematologist.
