The present textbook entitled Sociology for Physiotherapists covers a comprehensive course in sociology for the benefit of the students pursuing studies for Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy. This book has been written in a lucid style. The contents of the book succinctly cover a systematic meaning of sociology, its relations with other social sciences and elaboration of basic sociological concepts relevant to the health care professionals. It also explains the significance of social institutions, besides elementary methods and research techniques used in sociology. It covered the idea of social welfare, social work and welfare state; explanation of contemporary major social problems has also received adequate space in the book. The book is primarily to serve the physiotherapy students; the doctors, nurses, administrators, social workers, paramedical and health personnel, can also use it as a handy book of sociology.
