Textbook of Cervical Spondylosis

by PS Ramani

The Textbook of Cervical Spondylosis comprises of thirty-three chapters with encyclopedic coverage of all aspects of cervical spondylosis. The book gives up-to-date knowledge on all aspects of cervical spondylosis in an unbiased way. Particular importance has been given to the management of cervical spondylotic myelopathy which is so common and yet so intriguing. Evidence-based medicine has taken shape and it is time to fold the sleeves and get to do prospective studies even on clinical material with a more scientific basis. The literature is full of references to say that the surgical results of mild and moderate myelopathy are not different from conservative management at the end of three years. Pain in the neck, as elsewhere, is an intriguing factor. Pain due to whiplash injury has to be differentiated from cervical spondylotic pain when both coexist. Implants of all kinds are now freely available and enthusiastic surgeons are now looking forward to utilise latest advances like endoscopic laser microcervical discectomy and functional cervical disc replacement. It is oriented to postgraduates interested in cervical spinal degenerative disorders. It is aimed at making them think rationally and see how best they can make themselves useful to the society keeping in mind the practical realities of a given place.
